Pradeep Kumar may have been able to win Mala Sinha’s heart riding a cycle in the movie Picnic, but his bulky black rods and wheels would have been out-of-fashion among today’s super bikes.

Not the Hecules black, today’s bikes (cycles) come in attractive colours, with lightweight bodies, powerful brakes and even gears. As today’s youngsters zoom the streets in these fancy machines, yet another one has being launched.

Firefox Bikes has introduced a range of stunning super bikes designed in the UK. Matching the highest international standards, these cycles, come with 21 hi-tech Shimano gears.

This is for the first time that an Indian cycle has disc brakes and suspension. The super-light cycle is divided into four frames for a steady and comfortable ride. Perfect for uphill treks.

It is also fitted with a deralier for smooth changing of gears. With broad tires for a steadier road grip, the cycles come in 30 different models.

Hemant Dewan, Manager Marketing, Firefox Bikes said, “City life is becoming more and more sedentary and stressful. Hence it becomes absolutely necessary to incorporate outdoor activities in our daily routine that will unwind us and provide the much-needed physical exercise.”

Dewan agrees that riding a cycle in the city’s congested roads is not very good idea. But the company held a rally and requested Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit to provide a cycling lane along roads.

With accessories like bike carrier for car to ferry cycles, Firefox wants to make cycling a family sport. But be ready to burn the wallet, the cycles can cost up to Rs 21,000.
